Agri-food Marketing Day
Held every year at the end of September in Montpellier, this event dates back to 2006, and can now claim the “Thematic Days of the Association Française du Marketing (AFM)” label.
It takes place alternatively on the Institut Agro and IAE Montpellier campuses. This alternation reflects the supervisory responsibilities of the organizers, Lucie Sirieix (Institut Agro Montpellier) and Philippe Aurier (MRM, University of Montpellier).
Objective
The objective of this event is to bring together researchers and practitioners concerned with marketing and consumer behavior in the agri-food field. The day’s activities are predominantly academic, but are also underpinned by strong interaction with managers from the agri-food sector, notably in the form of round tables featuring non-academic professionals (industrialists, associations, etc.).
Recent round table topics have included animal welfare, innovation in distribution (e.g. bulk/loose), nutrition and marketing in cooperatives.
The day is open to both academic researchers and practitioners, as it provides an opportunity for these two worlds to meet and interact on the latest advances in the agri-food sector.
