SCOOP Seminar

Organized by MoISA joint research unit, this annual seminar is devoted to understanding social economy organizations and their impact on food system transitions.

Objective

Social economy organizations, including agricultural cooperatives, associations, SCOPs and more recent forms such as SCICs, are playing an increasingly important role in food systems. International bodies such as the United Nations and the FAO, the International Labor Organization and many others see them as the form of organization best able to implement the transitions required for sustainable development. Through a series of annual conferences, the SCOOP cross-disciplinary seminar aims to obtain a better understanding of the emergence, development and transformation of these organizational forms, and to analyze their impact on food systems from different perspectives and disciplines.
