Research training courses

The researchers and lecturers/researchers at the UMR MOISA teach a number of courses in several Master’s degrees:

• Master 1 and Master 2 Food, majoring in Social Sciences Applied to Food at the University of Toulouse Le Mirail (Course Director Prof. Jean-Pierre Poulain). The researchers at the UMR coordinate and teach the “Food and Development” modules in the Master’s 1 (55 hours) and Master’s 2 (40 hours) degree courses.

• Master’s 2 in Political Science, majoring in International Cooperation and Development Operators at the University of Montpellier I (Course Director Hubert Peres). The researchers at the UMR teach the modules relating to the issues of food security (16 hours) and sustainable development (16 hours).

• Food, Body and Health research seminar at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris, (Course Director Claude Fischler).

• Master’s 2 in Biology and Health, majoring in Nutrition, agrovalorisation in public healthcare – nutrition in developing countries at the University of Montpellier I, Montpellier II and Montpellier SupAgro.

• Master’s in the Politics of Agricultural, Marine and Environmental Resources (PRAME) at the Agrocampus Ouest, Rennes.

• Seminar on the Governance of Sustainable Development within the framework of the ADD standards project and the Chair of Sustainable Development at Sciences Po, Paris.

Professional training courses

The UMR MOISA participates in educational activities as part of the engineering training courses offered by Montpellier SupAgro in partnership with the SESG Department (Economic, Social and Management Sciences) and the Warm regions Institute (IRC). The lecturers/researchers and researchers are especially active in the Territories and Resources 3rd year major: public policies and operators (TERPPA), the Agro-managers 3rd year major, the Master’s in Livestock and Agribusiness Company Management (MAEVA) and the Specialised Master’s in Tropical Agricultural Development (DAT).

The teaching activities focus on the following themes:

• Economics of natural resources and the environment
• Company management
